L.K. Comstock National Transit

L.K. Comstock furnished and installed all the systems on Sound Transit's new University Link extension, which extends the existing Central Link light rail link north from downtown to the University of Washington.


L.K. Comstock installed the communications systems for the tunnels and stations for the new 3.15-mile light rail extension, including new SCADA, radio systems, optical fiber, emergency telephone, audio and paging, and visual message systems, as well as a new headend interface with the Sound Transit Operation Control Center.

HSQ Technology, a RailWorks sister company, reworked Sound Transit's existing supervisory control and data acquistion (SCADA) system and provided a new isolated building management, emergency management and SCADA systems.

This installation help to improve service reliability and accommodate future Sound Transit LRT expansions.

Unique Features 

The new extension is scheduled to open for revenue service in 2016.
